My Secret Weapon

I thought i might play along with Pip's meme. which was chosen by My Bricole. My secret weapon is my ever growing wall of books. Whenever I need... well anything really, the answer can usually be found here.

Yesterday I went shopping and got some gorgeous new stuff to add to my ever growing craft collection. I got these great finds from a local op shop, and I have some ideas forming of what to do with them, but basically I just thought that they were nice.

I also got these buttons at spotlight, which I hope to use with the vintage kimono fabric that I ordered from here. I am looking at trying my skills at making some wallets which I have downloaded the tutorial for from sew i do. I am findaing that by using these tutorials and patterns that people have very kindly posed on their blogs I am learning how to do a whole range of things that I never knew how to do before.

As a newbie to the craft world I would really appreciate any ideas that people have about projects or things I could try to keep me going on this crafty journey that I have started :)

Where does the blog come from?

I've been considering blogging for quite a while now, but quite honestly I havent though I have had anything interesting to say. I sat to write today for the first time and wondered... where does a blog come from? I guess the first instinct is to write about something that you think other people will like, because we all like to be liked, even by random strangers that we will never meet. But then, how do you know what people like? Then I thought I might write about my day... but who would want to hear about that? This blogging stuff is harder that I thought.

But then I realised, the blogs I like are the ones where people just write, they tell me the random ordinary things that happen to them, and I feel like I have been honored enough to share a moment with them. And I bet many of them have sat there in the beginning also wondering... where does a blog come from. Where is my inspiration?

So... Today, on my first blogging day, I will write about who I am Today.

Today I am a virgin blogger writing her first blog. Today I am a loving wife and granddaughter who spent the day sharing a meal and talking with people that I love more than anything. Today I am a budding crafter who is learning how to use her new sewing machine; and today I am glad for the simple things in life like my 2 dogs who have taught me what unconditional love is all about.
